Available from Mute Records, EMI Music Download the song/album here here: Cinematography, Direction, and Editing by: Colin Rich: A big thanks to Matthews MSE ( especially to Bob Kulesh, Tyler & Ed Phillips for their generous support and patience of this lengthy endeavor. Most of the linear motion control shots were captured using their FloatCam DC Slider, a wonderful piece of engineering for the time lapse world. 'Nightfall' is a three minute tour of light through the City of Angels. I shot "Nightfall" in an attempt to capture Los Angeles as it transitioned from day to night. As you probably know, LA is an expansive city so shooting it from many different angles was critical. Usually I was able to capture just one shot per day with a lot of driving, exploring, and scouting in between but the times sitting in traffic or a "sketchy" neighborhood often lead to new adventures and interesting places. Nightfall in particular is my favorite time to shoot time lapse. Capturing the transition from day to night while looking back at the city as the purple shadow of Earth envelopes the eastern skyline and the warm distant twinkling halogen lights spark to life and give the fading sun a run for her money- this will never grow old or boring to me. In this piece, it was important to me for the shots to both capture and accentuate the movement of light through the day and night and the use of multiple motion control techniques allowed me to do so. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it. An English translation of the lyrics- "It is late. I am looking for my other home, taking an unfamiliar path: a small trail near the factories and the city, cutting through the forest. I can barely see nature when suddenly, night falls. I am engulfed by a world of silence, yet I am not afraid. I fall asleep for a few minutes at the most, and when I wake up, the sun is there and the forest is shining with a bright light. I recognize this forest. It is not an ordinary forest, it is a forest of memories. My memories. The white and noisy river, my adolescence. The tall trees, the men I have loved. The birds in flight, and in the distance, my lost father. My memories aren't memories anymore. They are there, with me, dancing and embracing, singing and smiling at me. I look at my hands. I caress my face, and I am 20 years old. And I love like I have never loved before."

ROA street artist profile film by filmmaker Colin M Day - Warholian

Warholian's own Colin M. Day has outdone himself once again, this time presenting us with street artist ROA. This film piece is literally a work of art in itself, and is by far the best piece yet on ROA. Mr. Day seems to be producing better and better work, and we are honored to be able to continue to present his films on Warholian. ROA on the other hand needs no introduction, he is by far the most prolific street artist we've met. The guy can paint faster than a speeding bullet, and it's truly amazing to watch him work in person. Enough with all the talk... enjoy! - Warholian For more on Colin M. John Lewis 'The Bear & The Hare' - The Making Of

Making of film directed by Jake & Josh The Bear & the Hare is the first John Lewis campaign to embrace the emotive power of animation, a filmic technique so evocative of Christmasses gone by. Elliot and Yves took the two most traditional and time-honoured animation processes – stop-motion and traditional hand-drawn 2D animation – and combined them to create something innovative and unique. Their aim was to do almost everything in camera, using real lighting, lens and film craft to build a world where the audience can see and feel the painstaking work behind it. The 2D animation’s physical interaction with the set and the human imperfections inherent in the process create a hand-crafted piece full of heart and integrity. The animation process involved constant shifts between 2D and 3D worlds. In order to achieve this complicated combination the whole film was first created in Blinkink Studios as a 3D previsualisation animatic with all the sets and characters built to scale. This allowed everything to be developed and planned alongside the modelmakers and animators, thus integrating the different disciplines and processes before the set was built or the characters were printed. Aaron Blaise (Brother Bear, The Lion King, Mulan) and his team of veteran Disney animators at Premise Entertainment in Orlando, Florida, designed and animated the characters. The 2D-animation frames were printed onto mounted paper and cut with a laser. Each frame (nearly 4,000 in total) was then individually hand-labelled before going on set. Feature-film stop-frame animators then spent 6 weeks bringing the world to life. The set was built by our production designer John Lee (Aliens, Fantastic Mr Fox, Frankenweenie) and his team at Shepperton Studios before being transported to Clapham Road Studios ready for the stop-motion shoot. Post-production was done in-house in Blinkink’s animation studio, and the final grade was completed at MPC. Moby & Mark Lanegan 'The Lonely Night'

Music: 'The Lonely Night' by Moby & Mark Lanegan Cinematography & Direction: Colin Rich ( In celebration of 2013's Record Store Day, moby and Mark Lanegan have collaborated on an exclusive track to be released as a limited edition 7" on 20th April. The Lonely Night 7" comes backed with a remix from electronic music legend Photek and is being released on moby's own label Little Idiot. moby on collaborating with Mark Lanegan: "i've been a fan of mark's from his early sst records days, and i've always wanted to work with him. he has one of the best and most distinctive voices of the last 25 years. now that we live near each other it ended up being really easy working on a song together." moby on producing of The Lonely Night: "...And in producing the song, spike stent and i incorporated some very unusual production techniques... we ran all of the instruments through a distortion pedal into a guitar amp. so really there are only 3 tracks: left channel through a distortion pedal and guitar amp, right channel through a distortion pedal and guitar amp, and mark's vocals. The end result is intentionally very broken and atmospheric." Colin Rich a LA based director who specializes in time-lapse photography has been commissioned to shoot the video to accompany The Lonely Night. The video features both moby and Mark Lanegan and flits between the desolate and far removed terrain of the Californian desert and the endless electric city expanse of Los Angeles.
